Allison Cara Tolman has been an actor for more than twenty years. The actress is most famous for her character Molly Solverson in the first season of Fargo, the first season of FX the television show Fargo. It earned her Emmy as well as Golden Globe nominations. Tolman grew up with two older siblings as well as one younger. The family relocated to England when she was a little over a month old. She stuck around until she turned four years old. After spending five years in Oklahoma the family moved to Sugar Land. The Fort Bend Community Theatre, she began acting lessons when she was 10 years old. Clements High School was her high school, and she graduated in 2000. She earned her degree from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatrical performance. Following her college graduation, she moved to Dallas, where she was one of the founding actors of Second Thought Theatre. In Chicago, Illinois in 2009 she studied performance at The Second City Training Center. Tolman's career began in 2014 when she starred as the lead character of FX's Black comedy crime series Fargo. Fargo is the 1996 Coen Brothers film, starred Billy Bob Thornton (as Molly Solverson), Martin Freeman (as Bob Odenkirk) and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman has been praised for her performance in the role of Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said that Tolman was "calmly sure of taking over the whole show". Critics' Choice Television Award, Best Supporting Actress (Movie/Miniseries) as well as Golden Globe nominations were presented to Tolman for her performance. The following season, the news announced Tolman would have a two-episode appearance on the Mindy Project as Abby Berman, a romance novelist. In 2015, Tolman had a supporting character in Michael Dougherty's comedy film Krampus.
